Probenlogistik

Probenlogistik is the part of Präanalytik that happens after the tube is filled: how the sample is stored, how it is packed, how it travels and how long all of that takes.

The reason it decides whether a draw counts is stability. Each analysis has a window within which the sample has to reach the bench, and some are short. Miss it and the value is either not reportable or reportable with a caveat that makes it useless for the conversation the customer came for.

The requirements come from the akkreditiertes Labor that will run the analyses, and they are set out in its Präanalytik handbook: which tube, what volume, whether the sample is centrifuged before dispatch, at what temperature it travels, and the latest handover time for each courier run.

For a pharmacy the practical consequence is that appointment times and courier times are one decision rather than two. Booking a panel with a short stability window into the late afternoon of a day with a morning-only pickup means the sample sits overnight, and overnight is usually too long.

The controls are simple to write and easy to skip. A named collection window per weekday. A defined place where samples wait, at the right temperature. Packaging that matches the transport rules for diagnostic samples. A log of what left when, so that a query from the laboratory three days later can actually be answered.

All of this belongs in the pharmacy's Standardarbeitsanweisungen rather than in someone's memory, because the person who took the venöse Blutentnahme is often not the person who hands the box to the courier.
